The Invention of Lying Synopsis: In an alternate reality, lying -- even the concept of a lie -- does not even exist. Everyone -- from politicians to advertisers to the man and woman on the street -- speaks the truth and nothing but the truth with no thought of the consequences. But when a down-on-his-luck loser named Mark suddenly develops the ability to lie, he finds that dishonesty has its rewards. In a world where every word is assumed to be the absolute truth, Mark easily lies his way to fame and fortune. But lies have a way of spreading, and Mark begins to realize that things are getting a little out of control when some of his tallest tales are being taken as, well, gospel. With the entire world now hanging on his every word, there is only one thing Mark has not been able to lie his way into: the heart of the woman he loves.

I got a chance to see Zombieland a few days before it hit theaters today, October 2, and let me start by saying that I absolutely loved it.
Now I am not a fan of horror movies, and zombie movies are not my thing either, but Zombieland is not really what I would call a horror film. The zombie part has more of a Shaun of the Dead flavor to it, which I actually enjoy. Within the first ten minutes I was pretty much sold on the film and could tell I was going to have a great time. So I thought I would break the movie down and tell you about what which parts I enjoyed the most. But before that let's start with:
What is Zombieland all about?
Zombieland takes place in a world that is overrun by zombies, except that these zombies are not undead, but infected people that now like to eat flesh.. how nice. We meet Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) a kind of a wuss character, who has been able to survive so far by sticking with his set of rules. He meets Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) a pretty badass zombie-killer, with whom he ends up traveling. Along the way, they also meet sisters Witchita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who are trying to get to Pacific Playland.
Now that you know what the movie is all about, let's find out what makes it good.

Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) is an AK-totin', zombie-slayin' badass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

ZOMBIELAND Comic Con 2009 Panel
During the Comic Con 2009 panel for ZOMBIELAND, we not only got to see a new special trailer, which was freaking awesome, we also got to see a few clips, which made me even more excited to see the full movie.
In one of the clips shown, a girl, Jesse Eisenberg's character, Columbus, likes comes knocking on his door freaking out that she has been attacked. He offers for her to stay at his place, only to realize the next day that she has turned into a zombie. A crazy fight scene follows as Columbus tries to fight the zombie off, and the scene ends with him hitting her with a toilet cover. It's pretty crazy.
To present the movie, Ruben Fleischer, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Woody Harrelson were all on the panel.

Check out this really cool poster from ZOMBIELAND a new comedy/horror movie about (what else?) zombies, that FirstShowing.net just put up.
While I don't enjoy zombie movies per say, I do like them when you add a little comedy. The trailer also pretty much won me over, it looks great.
As for the poster I love how it has this Universal Pictures logo look. The poster also makes me kind of think of amusement parks. Zombieland will also have a panel at Comic Con next week, so hopefully we'll have some new info soon.

I'm usually not a fan of zombie movies, or horror movies for that matter, but you just add a comedic spin to it and I'm in. I just loved that trailer, it reminded me of "Shaun of the Dead," which I thought was pretty hilarious. So Zombieland it is!
