The Road - Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee

Check out a new trailer for THE ROAD starring Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Robert Duvall, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Garret Dillahunt, and directed by John Hillcoat.

The Road Synopsis: A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and, when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing: just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food--and each other.

The Road will be released to theaters on November 25, 2009. Watch the trailer below.

The Road - Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee

THE ROAD is a movie I've been meaning to write about. one of my friends read the book it is based on and loved it. I personally haven't read it yet, but it's on my list of must-read books. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that I was quite intrigued about the film, especially since it stars Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Robert Duvall.

USA Today released the first photos from the film and it just gives me chills how good it looks. I might have to read that book sooner than expected. (Update: USA Today has now 5 additional pictures that I have added below. I might have to go get that book today after looking at them. How awesome do they look?)
