New DVD Releases for the Week of August 25 2009
Here is a list of the new DVD Releases for the week of August 25 2009, as well as my intentions to buy, rent, watch on TV, or skip (for TV on DVD releases head over to Daemon's TV):
Adventureland
Synopsis: It's the summer of 1987, and James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg), an uptight recent college grad, can't wait to embark on his dream tour of Europe.
But when his parents (Wendie Malick and Jack Gilpin) announce they can no longer subsidize his trip, James has little choice but to take a lowly job at a local amusement park. Forget about German beer, world-famous museums and cute French girls-James' summer will now be populated by belligerent dads, stuffed pandas, and screaming kids high on cotton candy. Lucky for James, what should have been his worst summer ever turns into quite an adventure as he discovers love in the most unlikely place with his captivating co-worker Em (Kristen Stewart), and learns to loosen up.

Recommendations: I really loved this movie when I saw it in theaters and it's definitely worth owning.

Movies Coming Out This Weekend April 24 2009
Wondering what movies are coming out to theaters this Friday, April 24? Here is a list with our recommendations (which you can take or leave, it's up to you).
DEFINITELY WATCH AT THE MOVIES
The Soloist
After the released date being pushed back, The Soloist is finally coming out to theaters. Unfortunately, I did read some negative reviews about it, but it's Robert Downey Jr., so I kind of have to check it out.

Check out some pictures from the movie, THE INFORMERS, starring Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Stroup, Brad Renfro, Rhys Ifans, Jon Foster, Lou Taylor Pucci, Cameron Goodman, Austin Nichols, Amber Heard, and directed by Gregor Jordan.
Even though The Informers has a pretty impressive cast, so far I haven't heard great things about it. I think I'll still check it out anyway.

Actor of the Day: JON FOSTER

Next in: The Mysteries of Pittsburgh coming out March 24 (limited theaters), and The Informers coming out April 24 (limited theaters).
The Buzz: Jon Foster might be Ben Foster's little brother, but he has build a career all of his own. I first noticed Jon Foster in the short-lived TV show, Life As We Know It and since then I have followed everything else he has done. In each new project he pushes himself as an actor, and I think that he is one to watch out for.
THE INFORMERS Movie Trailer
The trailer for THE INFORMERS is interesting to say the least. It looks like such a dark movie, I don't know if I'll be able to stomach it at the movies, although the cast looks phenomenal.
The cast includes Amber Heard, Billy Bob Thornton, Winona Ryder, Kim Basinger, Jessica Stroup, Mickey Rourke, Brad Renfro, Rhys Ifans, Jon Foster, Lou Taylor Pucci, Cameron Goodman, and Austin Nichols.
There is one reason that I do want to see the movie and it's the late Brad Renfro. This is the last movie he starred in before he passed away and since I have been following his career for more than 10 years, I really want to see what his last contribution was.
Synopsis: A drama based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel set in 1983 Los Angeles, where movie executives, rock stars, a vampire, and other morally challenged character mix and commingle. (Source: imdb.com)
There is no release date set for the movie yet, but it should be released later this year.
