Two Lovers

Synopsis: Two Lovers is a romantic drama set in New York City. It tells the story of Leonard, an attractive but depressed young man who moves back in with his parents following a recent heartbreak. An aspiring photographer, Leonard works part-time at his father's dry-cleaners. His concerned parents try to set him up with Sandra, the sweet and caring daughter of a close family friend. A big family dinner serves as their introduction and Leonard arranges to see her again.
Then late one night Leonard looks out his bedroom window and notices a ravishing young woman he's never seen before. Michelle recently moved into an apartment in his family's building - an apartment paid for by the wealthy married man she's seeing.

Cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Gwyneth Paltrow, Isabella Rossellini, Vinessa Shaw, Elias Koteas, John Ortiz, Moni Moshonov

Director: James Gray

Recommendations: I was intrigued by the trailer for Two Lovers, and because of the cast I think it's worth a rental.

Buy it: TWO LOVERS on Amazon (also available on Blu-ray)

Wondering what movies are coming out to theaters this Friday, March 27? Here is a list with our recommendations (which you can take or leave, it's up to you).

DEFINITELY WATCH AT THE MOVIES

Monsters vs Aliens

It seemed that Monsters vs Aliens' March release was so far away, I cannot believe it's already here. And of course that means that I am hyped up to go and watch it.

The Mysteries of Pittsburgh (Limited)

I recently posted the trailer for this and was really psyched to go and watch it. Although I probably will have to wait a week for it to be released in LA on April 4th. This week it will be released in New York.

Little Ashes (Limited)

Robert Pattinson before Twilight, come on I gotta see this! But more seriously, I posted the trailer a while back and was really intrigued by the movie, it looks like some great acting there.

I am curious about checking out The Education of Charlie Banks, but I think my plate is pretty full this week, so it might have to be a rental.

The Education of Charlie Banks Poster

Check out the trailer for THE EDUCATION OF CHALIE BANKS starring Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Ritter, Chris Marquette, Eva Amurri, Sebastian Stan, Gloria Votsis, and directed by Fred Durst (yes, that Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit).

I'm actually curious to see how Fred Durst did as a director, especially since the trailer doesn't look half bad.

The Education of Charlie Banks will be released in limited theaters on March 27, 2009. Watch the trailer below.

The Education of Charlie Banks Synopsis: Charlie Bank's (Jesse Eisenberg) sheltered world at his Ivy League campus is shaken when Mick (Jason Ritter), an old acquaintance with a violent past, unexpectedly shows up at his dorm room. Intrigued by Charlie's privileged lifestyle, the charismatic Mick quickly wins over Charlie's friends and his crush, Mary (Eva Amurri) as he seamlessly integrates himself into Charlie's life. Unnerved yet also in awe of Mick's easy charm, Charlie's unresolved feelings of jealousy, admiration and fear — as well as an unspoken secret between the two — threatens to come to a head with ruinous consequences.
