SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 Details Revealed By Robert Downey Jr

Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as the quirky yet brilliant sleuth in the sequel to last year’s hit ‘Sherlock Holmes’. He revealed that playing the detective was one of his favorite experiences ever. When asked if everyone from the first film would be back for Sherlock Holmes 2, his opinion was that it was difficult to say.
MTV News also asked if ‘Sherlock Holmes’ 2 would be filmed in 3D. The writers have hinted that it has been discussed. Downey commented that, due to the popularity of 3D at the moment, the movie might lose money if it was not filmed in that format.
Only a few years ago, Robert Downey Jr. overcame substance abuse problems that made him unemployable. Now, he has the starring role in two major blockbusters, the aforementioned Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.

Robert Downey Jr. Thinks Guy Ritchie is Smart

Robert Downey Jr. says Guy Ritchie is a “really smart bad-a*s”. The actor praised the director for his confident approach to working on ‘Sherlock Holmes’, in which the ‘Iron Man’ star plays the titular fictional detective and says he always felt comfortable working with the filmmaker. He said:
“We’re in the hands of a really smart bad-a*s. The best word to describe Guy is ‘confident’. Confident in a way that you can’t pretend to be, because you only see it in the moment when it’s crunch time.”
Meanwhile, Guy says he decided to take on the project because he wanted to create an “intellectual action hero” that was radically different to his previous work. He told Britain’s FHM magazine:
“I’d been offered all sorts of other big studio films over the last ten, 12 years and none of them really appealed. Mostly because I thought I couldn’t do much with them. [...]

Robert Downey Jr. Likes to Beat Up People

Robert Downey Jr. says he has a good day when he gets to beat people up. The actor urged writers and the stunt department of Iron Man 2 to give his character more action scenes because they are his favorite to film.
He said: “The action’s certainly got bigger because I went to do Sherlock Holmes, which was a real adventure. “So coming back into this I really challenged our stunt team to get our hands dirty a little more because I was still kind of into that, I love it so much. “There is no better day that I can have than one where I beat people up or get thrown around. I just love it. “It’s supposed to be safe, but it’s a little more than acting so it’s really fun.”
