Over the weekend I went to see The Time Traveler's Wife with a friend, who I would have never expected would want to see it. Turns out he had seen Rachel McAdams on 'The Daily Show' talk about the movie and it made him want to see it. The funny thing is, Rachel McAdams pretty much gave the movie away on that show, but even then my friend really enjoyed the movie. And so did I.
The Time Traveler's Wife, which is based on the book of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger, tells the story of Henry (Eric Bana) and Clare (Rachel McAdams), how they fell in love and how they dealt with Henry's unusual problem. You see, Henry is a time traveler, which means he spontaneously goes back and forth in time to places and times that are important in his life. It is during one of his "travels" that Clare first meets him when she is still a young girl. The interesting part is that Henry on the other side is in his forties and already knows that he will end up marrying her.

SHERLOCK HOLMES Comic Con 2009 Panel
Probably the most anticipated Warner Bros panel this year at Comic Con was SHERLOCK HOLMES. We got to see an extended trailer, which looks even better than the first one that was released.
Robert Downey Jr. was of course there to promote the film, as well as Rachel McAdams, and producers Joel Silver, Susan Downey, and writer Lionel Wigram.
When asked how they came to make Sherlock Holmes, Lionel Wigram explained that he had been a fan ever since he was a kid. He always thought it would be great to make a movie, and so he made a comic book in order to show how cool the character could be. He explained that Sherlock Holmes still applies today as much as when he was originally created.
The universe of Sherlock Holmes will be taken from the books, but the narrative is something that Lionel Wigram came up with. The mystery is informed by the time period and draws heavily from the Victorian's obsession with cult.

Aside from Revolver and marrying Madonna, Guy Ritchie can do no wrong in my eyes. Only he could make Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson look cool. These posters reflect that IMHO.

It's like people sat down in a room and thought about a movie they could do for me. What can I say I'm a romantic at heart and I know where I'll be on August 14. I haven't read the book the movie is based on, but I like the premise and come on, who wouldn't wait for Eric Bana to come back to them? I think I better prepare a box of tissue for the movies.

Oh come on this is so awesome! I absolutely love it! Guy Ritchie brought it. After watching the trailer I cannot wait for November. It's clear that Robert Downey Jr. is once again giving us a brilliant performance and it looks like Jude Law is matching him.
