Alice in Wonderland

The third part of the theatrical banner poster for Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND has finally been released. We also finally get a first peek at the Caterpillar (played by Alan Rickman), which is one of my favorite characters in the story.

Alice in Wonderland Synopsis: From Walt Disney Pictures and visionary director Tim Burton comes an epic 3D fantasy adventure ALICE IN WONDERLAND, a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. JOHNNY DEPP stars as the Mad Hatter and MIA WASIKOWSKA as 19-year-old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror. The all-star cast also includes ANNE HATHAWAY, HELENA BONHAM CARTER and CRISPIN GLOVER. The screenplay is by Linda Woolverton. Capturing the wonder of Lewis Carroll’s beloved “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” (1865) and “Through the Looking-Glass” (1871) with stunning, avant-garde visuals and the most charismatic characters in literary history, ALICE IN WONDERLAND comes to the big screen in Disney Digital 3D™ on March 5, 2010.

Alice in Wonderland also stars Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Sheen, Stephen Fry.

Alice in Wonderland will be released to theaters on March 5, 2010. You can see the full third poster and banner (click for a larger version) below. You can also watch the trailer here.

Timothy Spall, Michael Sheen - The Damned United

Check out 5 clips from THE DAMNED UNITED starring Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall, Jim Broadbent, and directed by Tom Hooper.

The Damned United Synopsis: Set in 1960s and 1970s England, THE DAMNED UNITED tells the confrontational and darkly humorous story of Brian Cloughs doomed 44 day tenure as manager of the reigning champions of English football Leeds United. Previously managed by his bitter rival Don Revie (Colm Meaney), and on the back of their most successful period ever as a football club, Leeds had an aggressive and cynical style of football - an anathema to the principled yet flamboyant Brian Clough, who had achieved astonishing success as manager of Hartlepool and Derby County building teams in his own vision with trusty lieutenant Peter Taylor. Taking the Leeds job without Taylor by his side, with a changing room full of Dons boys, would lead to an unheralded examination of Cloughs belligerence and brilliance over 44 days. This is that story. The story of The Damned United. Jim Broadbent plays Sam Longson, Derby Chairman.

The Damned United will be released in NY and LA this Friday, October 9, 2009. Watch the clips below. You can also watch the trailer here.

Following Bella's ill-fated 18th birthday party, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the town of Forks, Washington, in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of high school, numb and alone, she discovers Edward's image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks.
With the help of her childhood friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), Bella refurbishes an old motorbike to carry her on her adventures. Bella's frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob, a member of the mysterious Quileute tribe, who has a supernatural secret of his own.
When a chance encounter brings Bella face to face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it frighteningly clear that Bella is still in grave danger. In a race against the clock, Bella learns the secret of the Quileutes and Edward's true motivation for leaving her. Michael Sheen in The Damned United

Check out pictures from THE DAMNED UNITED starring Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall, Jim Broadbent, and directed by Tom Hooper.

I posted the trailer for The Damned United not too long ago, and it's definitely a football (and by football I mean soccer) movie targeted at football fans. Although Michael Sheen looks to be giving another great performance.

The Damned United is going to be at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival and will be released to theaters on October 9th, 2009.

The Damned United Synopsis: Set in 1960's and 1970's England, The Damned United tells the confrontational and darkly humorous story of Brian Clough's doomed 44 day tenure as manager of the reigning champions of English football Leeds United. Previously managed by his bitter rival Don Revie, and on the back of their most successful period ever as a football club, Leeds was perceived by many to represent a new aggressive and cynical style of football - an anathema to the principled yet flamboyant Brian Clough, who had achieved astonishing success as manager of Hartlepool and Derby County building teams in his own vision with trusty lieutenant Peter Taylor. Taking the Leeds job without Taylor by his side, with a changing room full of what in his mind were still Don's boys, would lead to an unheralded examination of Clough's belligerence and brilliance over 44 days. This is that story. The story of The Damned United.

Michael Sheen Cast as Aro in The Twilight Saga: NEW MOON

Michael Sheen

Speaking of The Twilight Saga: NEW MOON, Michael Sheen has been cast as Aro, the leader of the Volturi, the ultimate vampire coven located in Volterra, Italy.

For those who haven't read the books, I can tell you that Aro is a pretty badass character/vampire. The interesting thing about Aro is that he doesn't lose control, but there is something very powerful about him and I cannot wait to see what Michael Sheen does with the character. What a great casting choice!

You might remember Michael Sheen from his previous roles in The Queen, Underworld, and most recently in Frost/Nixon.

Twilight fans, what do you think of the casting?
