Based on the novella by Joyce Carol Oates, Rape: A Love Story follows a mother (Maria Bello) recovering from a gang rape, who is stalked by the rapists, but protected by a cop (Samuel L. Jackson). The woman's 12 year-old girl, who witnessed the crime will be portrayed by Abigail Breslin.
The screenplay to Rape: A Love Story is adapted by John Mankiewicz, and the movie will be directed by Harold Becker.
I have a feeling I'm going to need a few days to get ready to see this film, it sounds really depressing, but I am really hoping for some great performances.
