LOVE AND OTHER IMPOSSIBLE PURSUITS Movie Pictures with Natalie Portman

Check out a couple of pictures from LOVE AND OTHER IMPOSSIBLE PURSUITS starring Natalie Portman, Scott Cohen, Lisa Kudrow, Charlie Tahan, and directed by Don Roos.
I first heard of this film back in February when I posted some pictures from the set with Natalie Portman and Scott Cohen, but at the time the movie was called 17 Photos of Isabel. Now it seems that they changed it to the original title of the book that it is based on. Either way, I'm sold.
Unfortunately, there is no release date for the film yet, but you can catch it at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival this month.

Love and Other Impossible Pursuits Synopsis: Families never turn out quite according to plan, and Emilia Greenleaf (Portman) certainly never imagined herself the shunned stepmother. But after winning Jack (Scott Cohen) away from his wife Carolyn (Lisa Kudrow), she finds herself immersed in the cross-currents of a new hybrid family. Now second wife to her former lover, she's forced to work out new relationships with her unco-operative stepson and his acerbic mother, who is still very much in the boy's life.
Shadowing Emilia's every attempt to get to know the stubborn, precocious young William (Charlie Tahan) is the unbearable loss of a baby she and Jack had hoped would cement their new marriage. Ostracized for wrecking Jack's previous life and berated by Carolyn at every opportunity, Emilia increasingly distances herself from Jack, and is in danger of drowning in domestic disappointment.
PAPER MAN Movie Review (LA Film Fest)

Paper Man was the opening movie at the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival, and all I can say is that it was a great choice.
Paper Man tells the story of Richard Dunn (Jeff Daniels) a failed author whose wife, Claire (Lisa Kudrow), a successful surgeon, rents a house in New Jersey in order to help him get over his writer's block. Along for the ride is Richard's imaginary friend, Captain Excellent (Ryan Reynolds), who has been with him since 2nd grade.
Unfortunately, Richard can't seem to get anything written and the fact that his first novel was a bust doesn't help either. During one of his outings to town, he meets Abby (Emma Stone) a Long Island teen who feels as lonely as he does. A friendship between the two begins a la "Lost in Translation" which helps both of them deal with their lives and unresolved issues.
Paper Man very much has a typical independent feel to it, which I love. And while the basic storyline is not that original, the elements surrounding it definitely bring it to a new, original level. I thought the whole Captain Excellent element was brilliant and putting Ryan Reynolds in the role in a Superman-like costume and platinum hair just makes it that much more brilliant. Oh and did I mention Captain Excellent also has some sort of slogan, it's pretty fun.
PAPER MAN Preview Videos with Jeff Daniels

Update: Unfortunately, we were asked to bring the clips down. The good news is the reason for it is because the movie is in the process of being sold and, without boring you too much, copyright will eventually change owners. Hopefully we'll have a trailer soon though.
Check out four video clips from PAPER MAN starring Jess Daniels, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Lisa Kudrow, Hunter Parrish, Kieran Culkin, and directed by Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney.
Paper Man was the opening movie at the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival and it's a really awesome movie. I am working on my review and should have it up soon so keep an eye out for that.
In the meantime check out the four clips from Paper Man below. In the first clip you'll get to see Ryan Reynolds as Captain Excellent, which is probably the best part of the movie. In the third one you can see Lisa Kudrow who plays Jeff Daniels' wife, and in the fourth clip you get to see Emma Stone, who is really wonderful in the movie. Unfortunately, Paper Man doesn't have a release date yet, but whenever it does, you guys have to check it out.

I guess this is the latest movie directed at teens and fans of Vanessa Hudgens. I just thought I would post it for the people who are looking forward to it. I'll just let you check out the trailer for yourself.
Oh and Friday Night Lights fans might like to know that Scott Porter is in the movie.
