Larry Fessenden to Direct THE ORPHANAGE Remake

Actor, producer, director Larry Fessenden is going to be directing New Line's remake of THE ORPHANAGE, a horror Spanish-language film originally produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Juan Antonio Bayona.
Larry Fessenden also wrote the script with del Toro, who will be producing the remake as well, along with Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson.
Larry Fessenden's previous work as a director include Wendigo and The Last Winter. He more recently produced and starred in I Sell the Dead (which I reviewed here and is coming out to limited theaters this Friday).
I also posted a short interview of Larry Fessenden talking about I Sell the Dead back at the LA Film Fest. You can check it out here.
I SELL THE DEAD Movie Trailer

Check out the trailer for I SELL THE DEAD starring Dominic Monaghan, Larry Fessenden, Ron Perlman, and directed by Glenn McQuaid.
I cannot believe that I haven't posted this until now, since I really enjoyed the movie (you can read my review here). But better late than never, right?! Plus this is perfect timing since I Sell the Dead will be released in NYC this Friday, August 7th and will be available on IFC On Demand starting August 12th.
It's definitely an entertaining movie that is different from what we have been seeing lately, and I think the trailer gives you a good idea of the tone it has. So watch the trailer below and make sure to check out I Sell the Dead when it comes out to theaters or on IFC On Demand.
I Sell the Dead Synopsis: The harrowing tale of Arthur Blake and Willie Grimes, two bumbling grave robbers embroiled in a series of adventures with the dead and not so dead, is told by Blake to a strange priest on the eve of his execution.
I SELL THE DEAD Review (LA Film Fest)

I am not a horror fan at all, but interestingly enough, I Sell the Dead was one of the movies that I wanted to see the most at the LA Film Fest.
I Sell the Dead follows the story of Arthur Blake (Dominic Monaghan) and Willie Grimes (Larry Fessenden), two grave robbers, who one day discover a body with a stake through its heart. Now unfortunately, Willie and Arthur have not been educated by pop culture and don't know that if you find a body with a stake in it, you just never remove it... This new "adventure" leads them to become dealers for the undead, in this very original and funny horror/comedy movie.
I Sell the Dead opens with Arthur confessing his "crimes" to a priest, Father Duffy (Ron Perlman). We then go back and forth between the story and the present in the prison. We learn about what lead Arthur to this point and all the crazy adventures he and Willie went on, as well as all the creatures they encountered along the way.

When I went to the screening of I SELL THE DEAD at the 2009 LA Film Festival, I got a chance to talk to Larry Fessenden who plays Willie Grimes in the movie. I do apologize for the sound, it's a little hard to hear him, but there were a lot of people around. Hopefully, you enjoy his interview anyway. (You can also watch our interview with Dominic Monaghan here.)
I Sell the Dead is directed by Glenn McQuaid and is sort of a comedy/horror film, about two grave robbers.
Check out what Larry Fessenden had to say about the movie below.
