Kick-Ass

Check out this new poster for KICK-ASS starring Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Moretz, Nicolas Cage, Mark Strong, Clark Duke, and directed by Matthew Vaughn.

This new poster was just released by MySpace and I think I like this one even better than the other ones.

Kick-Ass Synopsis: KICK-ASS tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.
His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

Kick-Ass will be released to theaters on April 16, 2010. Check out the full poster below. You can also watch the teaser trailer here.

Evan Peters, Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski, and Clark Duke as Marty in Kick-Ass

Check out some new pictures from KICK-ASS starring Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Moretz, Nicolas Cage, Mark Strong, Clark Duke, and directed by Matthew Vaughn.

If you remember, I was really excited about the footage shown at Comic Con this year, and the even more exciting news is that Lionsgate has picked up Kick-Ass for distribution sometimes in 2010.

And so I thought it would be a good time to share some new pictures. In the one above you can see Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski (center), surrounded by Clark Duke as Marty (right) and Evan Peters (left), who have pretty funny scenes together. Below you can see Aaron Johnson in his superhero costume, as well as Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl.

KICK-ASS Comic Con 2009 Panel

Kick-Ass Comic Con 2009 Panel

So far the Comic Con 2009 KICK-ASS panel was my favorite one along with James Cameron's Avatar.

I had been looking forward to this panel based solely on some of the pictures I had seen from it and the story of the comic book (which I now want to read).

Kick-Ass tells the story of a guy, Dave Lizewski, who decides one day that he is going to become a superhero, but the problem is, he doesn't have any superpowers.

Appearing in the panel was the director Matthew Vaughn, writers Mark Millar & Jane Goldman, John Romita Jr. and cast members Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin), Clark Duke and Chloe Moretz.

During the panel, we got a chance to take a look at a few clips and trailers, which totally kicked ass!

Probably the most memorable one was the one where, Damon Macready (Nicolas Cage) shoots his daughter (who is wearing a protective vest) to teach her not to be afraid of guns and being shot. That was probably one of the funniest scenes that I have seen in a while, and Nicolas Cage is brilliant in it.

Another great character is Mindy Macready aka Hit Girl (Nicolas Cage's daughter) played by Chloe Moretz, who probably has some of the best action scenes in the movie.

The best part of the panel was the standing ovation after the footage had been revealed, which is quite the compliment since that pretty much never happens.

Kick-Ass looks funny and has some pretty crazy action sequences. I cannot contain my excitement for it and hope we will get to see it soon, although there is no release date for it yet.

For now, you can check out more pictures from the Kick-Ass Comic Con 2009 panel below.

Check out the KICK-ASS poster that will be given out at Comic Con this year (via AICN).

Kick-Ass will also have a panel on Thursday at 5:45pm in Hall H, so you might want to check it out. I don't know why, but even though I don't know much about the movie, I'm already kind of excited about it. Hopefully, we'll get to see some footage at Comic Con, which will confirm my excitement.

Aaron Johnson - Kick-Ass

Check out two new pictures from KICK-ASS featuring Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski and Christopher Mintz-Pease as Chris D'Amico aka Red Mist, that SciFi Wire got their hands on.

Christopher Mintz-Pease - Kick-Ass

Kick-Ass will have a panel at Comic Con on Thursday, July 23 at 5:45-6:30pm. So mark your calendars because this could end up being a lot of fun.

I also recently posted a picture of Hit Girl if you want to check it out.

Kick-Ass Synopsis: Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan with a few friends and who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training. Chloe Moretz as Mindy Macready aka Hit Girl

Check out this picture of Chloe Moretz as Mindy Macready aka Hit Girl from the KICK-ASS movie directed by Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) that /Film got their hands on.

Now I haven't read the comic book or know anything about it for that matter, but after seeing this picture I kind of want to go pick up a copy.

So far there is no release date for the movie and we have yet to see footage from it, but the latter will change very soon as Kick-Ass will have a panel at San Diego's Comic Con at the end of the month on Thursday, July 23 at 5:45-6:30pm.

This definitely has the potential to be a really great movie and I'm curious to see some footage from it.
