ZOMBIELAND (2009) Movie Review

I got a chance to see Zombieland a few days before it hit theaters today, October 2, and let me start by saying that I absolutely loved it.
Now I am not a fan of horror movies, and zombie movies are not my thing either, but Zombieland is not really what I would call a horror film. The zombie part has more of a Shaun of the Dead flavor to it, which I actually enjoy. Within the first ten minutes I was pretty much sold on the film and could tell I was going to have a great time. So I thought I would break the movie down and tell you about what which parts I enjoyed the most. But before that let's start with:
What is Zombieland all about?
Zombieland takes place in a world that is overrun by zombies, except that these zombies are not undead, but infected people that now like to eat flesh.. how nice. We meet Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) a kind of a wuss character, who has been able to survive so far by sticking with his set of rules. He meets Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) a pretty badass zombie-killer, with whom he ends up traveling. Along the way, they also meet sisters Witchita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who are trying to get to Pacific Playland.
Now that you know what the movie is all about, let's find out what makes it good.

As they join forces with Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

Solitary Man is part of the Special Presentations lineup at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival.
This is another movie that seems to have a great cast. I'm not sure if I'm totally convinced by the synopsis yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to a trailer.
Solitary Man Synopsis: Ben Kalmen (Michael Douglas) is feeling his age, but you wouldn't know it from the company he keeps. A former mogul with a chain of car dealerships, until legal troubles knocked him out of business, Ben now keeps a grip on the world through his relationships with women – many women.

I'm usually not a fan of zombie movies, or horror movies for that matter, but you just add a comedic spin to it and I'm in. I just loved that trailer, it reminded me of "Shaun of the Dead," which I thought was pretty hilarious. So Zombieland it is!

Jesse Eisenberg Cast in KILL YOUR DARLINGS
[Jesse Eisenberg has been cast in KILL YOUR DARLINGS, a movie in which he will play poet Allen Ginsberg.
Also in the cast are Chris Evans and Ben Whishaw who will play Jack Kerouac and Lucien Carr respectively.
Kill Your Darlings will tell the story of the murder that helped create the Beat Generation, which came to prominence in the 1950s.
The Beat Generation was a cultural phenomena that a group of American writers inspired and wrote about. The three most famous writers were Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac.
Kill Your Darlings will be directed by John Krokidas.
If you don't know who Jesse Eisenberg is, we will see him in Adventureland, which will be released to theaters on March 27.
As for Chris Evans, you might remember him from Push and The Fantastic Four. And Ben Whishaw was in The International.
