Movies Coming Out This Weekend July 3 2009
Wondering what movies are coming out to theaters this Friday, July 3 2009 (or in this case on Wednesday, July 1)? Here is a list with our recommendations (which you can take or leave, it's up to you).
DEFINITELY WATCH AT THE MOVIES
Public Enemies
With a cast including Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, and director Michael Mann, it's hard to resist. Definitely a movie to see in theaters this weekend.
Public Enemies Synopsis: In the action-thriller Public Enemies, acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard in the story of legendary Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger (Depp)—the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover's fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. No one could stop Dillinger and his gang. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone—from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard) to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression.
But while the adventures of Dillinger's gang—later including the sociopathic Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham) and Alvin Karpis (Giovanni Ribisi)—thrilled many, Hoover (Billy Crudup) hit on the idea of exploiting the outlaw’s capture as a way to elevate his Bureau of Investigation into the national police force that became the FBI. He made Dillinger America's first Public Enemy Number One and sent in Purvis, the dashing "Clark Gable of the FBI." However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis' men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of Western ex-lawmen (newly baptized as agents) and orchestrating epic betrayals—from the infamous "Lady in Red" to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti—were Purvis, the FBI and their new crew of gunfighters able to close in on Dillinger.

I have to admit that apart from the first one, the last one was just not that great apart from Scrat (which is pretty much the only reason I get excited about Ice Age). So I'm hesitating as to whether I'll go see this one.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs will be released to theaters on June 1, 2009. Watch the trailer below.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs Synopsis: Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, and Scrat encounter a dinosaur population which survived extinction in its tropical paradise, which existed below the thick layers... until now. Meanwhile, Crash and Eddie are up to their usual crazy selves. Manny and Ellie have since become an item are going to have their first baby, and Manny wants everything to be perfect when his baby arrives. Diego is tired of being treated like a "House-cat" and ponders the notion that he's being too laid back. Sid starts to wish for a family of his own, and so steals some dinosaur eggs which leads his herd to go and to try to rescue him while dodging dinosaurs and facing danger left and right; they also meet up with a new friend who's a one-eyed weasel known as Buck, who hunts Dinosaurs intently. Scrat also meets a squirrel named Scratte and could find a possible romance with her.
ICE AGE 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs Movie Trailer (2009)
A new trailer for ICE AGE 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs was finally released. I gotta say though, my favorite thing about all the Ice Age movies is the cute Scrat and his unending quest to get his acorn, although it looks like the acorn might be replaced soon... or not, poor Scrat!
Whoever came up with that character is a freaking genius.
That trailer makes me very excited for the movie, although the last one was just ok. Mostly, I watch the movie to get to see Scrat throughout the movie, which I guess it why they always promote the movie through him.
Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs comes out to theaters on June 1, 2009.
