Ghosts of Girlfriends Past Blu-ray

Warner Bros has recently released GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST on Blu-ray, DVD, On Demand & Digital Download (you can buy it on Amazon).

I got a chance to take a look at the Blu-ray version, which also includes a digital copy of the film.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is a retelling of a Christmas Carol with a twist. It tells the story of Connor Meade a perpetual bachelor, who gets visited by three ghosts (the ghosts of girlfriends past, present and future), who take him on a trip to examine his past failed relationships.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is the typical romantic comedy in which Connor has to realize that love exists and is embodied by his childhood friend Jenny Perroti.

I personally enjoy romantic comedies even when they have tons of cliches, but the real question is, is this movie a good romantic comedy? I would say it was average. I wasn't jumping up and down about it, but I enjoyed it.

The main reason I enjoyed it was because of Matthew McConaughey, who plays a really great Connor Meade. This is of course key since he is the main character. I enjoyed the rest of the cast as well, but not as much as Matthew McConaughey. What can I say, he is charming. So ladies, if you like him, this movie is for you.

I saw the movie in Blu-ray, which of course looks nice and sharper, but to be honest I don't think it's as important to see a movie like that on Blu-ray compared to an action movie. But still, it's always nice to watch a film in higher quality. Plus you also get the special features in HD.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

Synopsis: Celebrity photographer Connor Mead loves freedom, fun and women... in that order. A committed bachelor who thinks nothing of breaking up with multiple women on a conference call, Connor's mockery of romance proves a real buzz-kill for his kid brother, Paul, and a houseful of well wishers on the eve of Paul's wedding. Just when it looks like Connor may single-handedly ruin the wedding, he is visited by the ghosts of his former jilted girlfriends, who take him on a revealing and hilarious odyssey through his failed relationships -- past, present and future. Together they attempt to find out what turned Connor into such an insensitive jerk and whether there is still hope for him to find true love... or if he really is the lost cause everyone thinks he is.

Cast: Jennifer Garner, Matthew McConaughey, Breckin Meyer, Lacey Chabert, Anne Archer, Emma Stone, Michael Douglas, Robert Forster

Director: Mark Waters

Recommendations: I found Ghosts of Girlfriends Past enjoyable, although I wasn't blown away by it. I still think it makes a good rental if you enjoy romantic comedies.
