Movies Coming Out This Week December 5 2008
Wondering what movies are coming out to theaters this Friday December 5 2008? Here is a list with our recommendations (which you can take or leave, it's up to you).

DEFINITELY WATCH AT THE MOVIES

This movie is part of our top 20 Christmas Movies of 2008 and should be really intense based on the trailer.
Synopsis: Oscar®-winning director Ron Howard brings to the screen writer Peter Morgan's electrifying battle between Richard Nixon, the disgraced president with a legacy to save, and David Frost, a jet-setting television personality with a name to make, in the untold story of the historic encounter that changed both: Frost/Nixon. Reprising their roles from Morgan's stageplay are Frank Langella, who won a Tony for his portrayal of Nixon, and Michael Sheen, who fully inhabited the part of Frost onstage in London and New York.
DEFINETELY RENT
HUNGER

This is seems to be a really interesting story that deserves a look.
Synopsis: Hunger follows life in the Maze Prison, Northern Ireland with an interpretation of the highly emotive events surrounding the 1981 IRA Hunger Strike, led by Bobby Sands. With an epic eye for detail, the film provides a timely exploration of what happens when body and mind are pushed to the uttermost limit.
DEFINITELY WATCH ON TV

Because of Beyonce's presence in the movie, I have downgraded the movie to a TV watching status. No reason you should spend any money on this.
Synopsis: In this tale of sex, violence, race, and rock and roll in 1950s Chicago, “Cadillac Records” follows the exciting but turbulent lives of some of America’s musical legends, including Muddy Waters, Leonard Chess, Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf, Etta James and Chuck Berry.
HELL WILL FREEZE FIRST
PUNISHER: WAR ZONE

Ok, this looks stupid. They can't seem to get the Punisher series right.
Synopsis:After hunting down and killing hundreds of violent criminals, Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, faces his most deadly foe yet: Jigsaw.

Twilight is the #1 Christmas Movie of 2008 because...do I even need to say it? Didn't you hear all those screaming fans over at Comic Con during the Twilight panel? And even if I wasn't screaming, I am as excited about the movie. Plus I am a big fan of Catherine Hardwicke's films. I just love her style of filmmaking. Her previous films include Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown. And don't even get me into how good the book is. Twilight is definitely #1 this Christmas. |

FROST/NIXON Movie Trailer (2008)
The trailer for FROST/NIXON was just released. This new Ron Howard film is based on on the play by Peter Morgan about the televised interviews that Richard Nixon did with David Frost in 1977.
Now the cool thing about this movie, is that Ron Howard actually kept the original actors from the play, Frank Langella and Michael Sheen for the movie. This bold choice might be a really great thing for the movie because these guys probably know their characters from A to Z.
I will say that the trailer was not as exciting as I thought it would be, but since it is a Ron Howard movie, I still expect some great stuff and probably some Oscar buzz.
The rest of the cast includes Kevin Bacon, Rebecca Hall, Sam Rockwell, and Matthew Macfadyen.
