Check out the trailer for DORIAN GRAY starring Ben Barnes, Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall, and directed by Oliver Parker.

I read the book, "The Picture of Dorian Gray," when I was in school and remember liking it. But unfortunately, judging from the Dorian Gray trailer, I'm not sure they did justice to the story. Although I do like Colin Firth.

Dorian Gray will be released to theaters in the UK on September 9, 2009. Watch the trailer below.

Dorian Gray Synopsis: Based on the classic novel by Oscar Wilde, Dorian Gray tells the story of a strikingly beautiful young man named Dorian (Ben Barnes). He arrives in Victorian London and is swept into a social whirlwind by the charismatic Henry Wotton (Colin Firth), who introduces Dorian to the hedonistic pleasures of the city. When a portrait of Dorian is unveiled, such is it's beauty that he makes a pledge: he would give anything to stay as he is in the picture - even his soul.

I always liked the story of Dorian Gray. While I am not sure about Ben Barnes in the lead role, I am willing to give it a shot.

Dorian Gray Synopsis: A corrupt young man somehow keeps his youthful beauty eternally, but a special painting gradually reveals his inner ugliness to all.

DORIAN GRAY will be released to UK theaters on September 18, 2009.

Dorian Gray - Colin Firth and Ben Barnes

Take a look at the first photo released for the upcoming movie, DORIAN GRAY. We can see Colin Firth as Lord Henry Wooton on the left and Ben Barnes (whom you might remember from The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) as Dorian Gray on the right.

The movie is an adaptation of the Oscar Wilde book "The Picture of Dorian Gray." I actually read the book back in school and remember really liking it. The story for some reason really fascinated me, and so I am quite curious to see it adapted to the screen.

DORIAN GRAY is currently in production, so there are no release date available yet.
