Avatar Synopsis: AVATAR takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of actual production work, AVATAR delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film, disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.
Avatar will be released to theaters on Decembre 18, 2009. Watch the teaser trailer below.

Sigourney Weaver in AVATAR
Check out a first look at Sigourney Weaver in James Cameron's AVATAR as her Na'vi avatar that was scanned from Empire's latest issue by MarketSaw.
After seeing the footage at Comic Con and more recently the teaser, Avatar is one of the movies I'm looking forward to the most right now. And I think they did a really great job with Sigourney Weaver's avatar.
Avatar will be released to theaters on Decembre 18, 2009.

Check out the teaser trailer for AVATAR starring Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, and directed by James Cameron.
Everyone can finally take their first look at James Cameron's very anticipated new film, Avatar. I was one of the lucky people that got to see the 24 minutes footage at Comic Con back in July, so I was already pretty excited about seeing more. This teaser reminds me of why I was so excited in the first place. I am once again blown away by how real the Na'vi (the blue characters in the trailer) look. You can actually recognize the faces of the actors playing them, it's pretty great.
This is of course a teaser, so they can't show you everything and you don't really hear anyone talk, but I think it gives you a pretty good idea as far as the look of Avatar. So what do you guys think? Are you loving the teaser as much as I am?
Avatar will be released to theaters on Decembre 18, 2009. Watch the teaser trailer below.

James Cameron's AVATAR First Picture with Sam Worthington
Check out the first official picture from James Cameron's AVATAR featuring Sam Worthington that /Film got their hands on.
Avatar takes place on another planet, Pandora, where humans are trying to learn more about the natives, Na'vi. In order to do that, they create avatars out of human and Na'vi DNA. The human's consciousness is then sent to the avatar, which looks like a Na'vi.
In the picture you can see Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, a paraplegic war veteran, sitting in front of what will become his Na'vi avatar.
We all know that I've been looking forward to Avatar ever since Comic Con, and now you guys get your first look at what the avatars look like. But trust me, they look even better in action.
Don't forget that August 21 is Avatar day. I wrote about how to get tickets here.
Avatar comes out to theaters on December 18, 2009.
AVATAR Trailer Ticket Information
In case you didn't know yet, James Cameron announced back at Comic Con that on August 21, there would be a special 15-minute trailer screening of his latest movie AVATAR in IMAX and regular theaters all over the country.
And now according to THR, you will be able to get free tickets online for special IMAX presentation of the trailer starting Monday, August 17. AvatarMovie.com will have theater information and instructions as to how to get your ticket. There will be 2 tickets per customer.
I saw the 24 minutes of Avatar shown at Comic Con, and much of the trailer will contain the same footage, however there will be at least one new scene included.
Avatar will be released on December 18, 2009.
AVATAR Movie Poster
Check out a couple of posters for James Cameron's AVATAR starring Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, and directed by James Cameron.
I've already talked about how excited I am about Avatar, and how much I loved the 24 minutes of footage shown at Comic Con (read the details of the panel here), so I won't repeat myself. But I definitely thought it was worth sharing the two posters from Avatar that have been released.
On the first one, we see Sam Worthington's character, Jake Sully as his Na'vi avatar, and the second one is Zoe Saldana as Neytiri a Na'vi. If you look closely, you definitely recognize their faces and it gives you an idea of what they look like in the movie.
Avatar will be released to theaters on December 18, 2009, but remember that August 21 is "Avatar Day" and your chance to go and see 15 minutes of Avatar at in IMAX and select 3-D theaters (the trailer will also be released online).
For now check out larger versions of the two Avatar posters below.
