Jean-Pierre Jeunet's MICMACS A TIRE-LARIGOT Teaser Trailer

Check out the trailer for MICMACS A TIRE-LARIGOT starring Dany Boon, André Dussollier, Nicolas Marié, and directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
I just love Jean-Pierre Jeunet's directing style and Micmacs a tire-larigot definitely has a Delicatessen-like feel, which I love. And Dany Boon is playing the main character, this is great!
Thanks to Quiet Earth for finding the teaser.
Micmacs à tire-larigot will be released to theaters in France on October 28, 2009. Watch the trailer below (it's in French and even though they don't say much, I translated what is said if you're curious).
THE ASSASSINATION OF A HIGH SCHOOL PRESIDENT Trailer

Check out the trailer for THE ASSASSINATION OF A HIGH SCHOOL PRESIDENT starring Reece Thompson, Mischa Barton, Bruce Willis, and directed by Brett Simon.
A lot of people who have seen The Assassination of a High School President are praising it as something really great and so I was kind of curious to see the trailer. I have to admit that the trailer is not all that exciting to me, but I still want to see the movie because it so many people seem to like it.
Thanks to SlashFilm for pointing out the trailer.
Watch the trailer for The Assassination of a High School President below. There is no release date as of yet, but it looks like it might be going straight to DVD.

Mischa Barton plays the young femme fatale, while Bruce Willis is an unhinged principal.

THE INFORMANT Movie Trailer with Matt Damon

Check out the trailer for THE INFORMANT starring Matt Damon, Scott Bakula, Joel McHale, and directed by Steven Soderbergh.
It looks like Steven Soderbergh has created another great movie. The trailer for The Informant looks really good and I love Matt Damon as the not-so-smart informant. Can't wait to see it.
The Informant will be released to theaters on October 9, 2009. Watch the trailer below.
The Informant Synopsis: What was Mark Whitacre thinking? A rising star at agri-industry giant Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), Whitacre suddenly turns whistleblower. Even as he exposes his company's multi-national price-fixing conspiracy to the FBI, Whitacre envisions himself being hailed as a hero of the common man and handed a promotion. But before all that can happen, the FBI needs evidence, so Whitacre eagerly agrees to wear a wire and carry a hidden tape recorder in his briefcase, imagining himself as a kind of de facto secret agent. Unfortunately for the FBI, their lead witness hasn't been quite so forthcoming about helping himself to the corporate coffers. Whitacre's ever-changing account frustrates the agents and threatens the case against ADM as it becomes almost impossible to decipher what is real and what is the product of Whitacre's rambling imagination. Based on the true story of the highest-ranking corporate whistleblower in U.S. history.

Movies Coming Out This Weekend July 3 2009
Wondering what movies are coming out to theaters this Friday, July 3 2009 (or in this case on Wednesday, July 1)? Here is a list with our recommendations (which you can take or leave, it's up to you).

DEFINITELY WATCH AT THE MOVIES
Public Enemies
With a cast including Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, and director Michael Mann, it's hard to resist. Definitely a movie to see in theaters this weekend.

Public Enemies Synopsis: In the action-thriller Public Enemies, acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard in the story of legendary Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger (Depp)—the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover's fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. No one could stop Dillinger and his gang. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone—from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard) to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression.
But while the adventures of Dillinger's gang—later including the sociopathic Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham) and Alvin Karpis (Giovanni Ribisi)—thrilled many, Hoover (Billy Crudup) hit on the idea of exploiting the outlaw’s capture as a way to elevate his Bureau of Investigation into the national police force that became the FBI. He made Dillinger America's first Public Enemy Number One and sent in Purvis, the dashing "Clark Gable of the FBI." However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis' men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of Western ex-lawmen (newly baptized as agents) and orchestrating epic betrayals—from the infamous "Lady in Red" to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti—were Purvis, the FBI and their new crew of gunfighters able to close in on Dillinger.
COUPLES RETREAT Movie Trailer

Check out the trailer for COUPLES RETREAT starring Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerman, Ken Jeong, Kristen Bell, Krisin Davis, Jean Reno, and directed by Peter Billingsley.
Now this is a comedy I can definitely get behind. It looks pretty funny and the cast is great. Also Jon Favreau wrote the script, which makes me want to see Couples Retreat even more.
Couples Retreat will be released to theaters on October 9, 2009. Watch the trailer below.
Couples Retreat Synopsis: Based on an original idea of Vaughn's, the comedy follows four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three set out to jet ski, spa and enjoy some fun in the sun. They soon discover that participation in the resort's couples therapy is not optional. Suddenly, their group-rate vacation comes at a price. What follows is a hilarious look at real world problems faced by all couples.
THE INVENTION OF LYING Movie Trailer with Ricky Gervais

Check out the trailer for THE INVENTION OF LYING starring Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Jonah Hill, Jason Bateman, Patrick Stewart, Tina Fey, and directed by Ricky Gervais.
This is such a fun concept. Can you imagine a world where no one would lie?! It's pretty crazy. And of course I love Ricky Gervais, so I'll watch anything he does.
The Invention of Lying will be released to theaters on September 25, 2009. Watch the trailer below.
The Invention of Lying Synopsis: In an alternate reality, lying -- even the concept of a lie -- does not even exist. Everyone -- from politicians to advertisers to the man and woman on the street -- speaks the truth and nothing but the truth with no thought of the consequences. But when a down-on-his-luck loser named Mark suddenly develops the ability to lie, he finds that dishonesty has its rewards. In a world where every word is assumed to be the absolute truth, Mark easily lies his way to fame and fortune. But lies have a way of spreading, and Mark begins to realize that things are getting a little out of control when some of his tallest tales are being taken as, well, gospel. With the entire world now hanging on his every word, there is only one thing Mark has not been able to lie his way into: the heart of the woman he loves.
