New Movies In Theaters This Friday, August 28, 2009

Wondering what new movies are coming out to theaters this Friday, August 28, 2009? Here is a list with my intentions to watch at the movies, rent, watch on TV, or skip all together.

DEFINITELY WATCH AT THE MOVIES

World's Greatest Dad

World's Greatest Dad could also end up being a rental, but since there isn't really something else I want to watch in theaters, I might give it a shot. Plus the trailer looks fun.

Alexie Gilmore, Robin Williams - World's Greatest Dad

World's Greatest Dad Synopsis: World's Greatest Dad is a story about a man that learns the things you want most may not be the things that make you happy, and that being lonely is not necessarily the same as being alone. Robin Williams stars as Lance Clayton, a man who has learned to settle. He dreamed of being a rich and famous writer, but has only managed to make it as a high school poetry teacher. His only son Kyle (Daryl Sabara) is an insufferable jackass who won't give his father the time of day. He is dating Claire, the school's adorable art teacher, but she doesn't want to get serious — or even acknowledge publicly that they are dating. Then, in the wake of a freak accident, Lance suffers the worst tragedy and greatest opportunity of his life. He is suddenly faced with the possibility of all the fame, fortune and popularity he ever dreamed of, if he can only live with the knowledge of how he got there

DEFINITELY RENT

The Open Road

I enjoyed the trailer for The Open Road, but I think I can wait to rent it, I'm not in a hurry to see it.

The Open Road - Justin Timberlake, Kate Mara, Jeff Bridge

The Open Road Synopsis: The Open Road centers on the adult son of a baseball legend who, together with his girlfriend, embarks on a road trip with his estranged father.

Taking Woodstock

I wasn't jumping up and down after seeing the trailer, so I think I'll just wait to rent Taking Woodstock.

Demetri Martin - Taking Woodstock

Taking Woodstock Synopsis: Taking Woodstock is a 1969-set true story about a man, Elliot Tiber (Demetri Martin), who inadvertently played a pivotal role in making the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival into the famed happening it was. Mr. Tiber found himself swept up in a generation-defining experience that would change his life, and American culture, forever.

HELL WILL FREEZE FIRST

The Final Destination (3D)

I might potentially end up seeing this one TV, but most likely I'll just skip it altogether.

The Final Destination Synopsis: On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave... escaping seconds before Nick's frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they've cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one--in increasingly gruesome ways--Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination.

Halloween 2

Not a big fan of the Halloween movies, so I'll have to skip this one as well.

Halloween 2

Halloween 2 Synopsis: Michael Myers is still at large and no less dangerous than ever. After a failed reunion to reach his baby sister at their old home, Laurie Strode is immediately taken to a hospital to be treated by the wounds that had been afflicted by her brother a few hours ago. However, Michael isn't too far off and will continue his murdering 'Halloween' rampage until he gets his sister all to himself.
