Jackie Earle Haley Cast as the new Freddy Krueger

Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) has been cast as the new Freddy Krueger in New Line and Platinum Dunes' remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, which centered on a killer who haunted teenagers' dreams and killed them through them.

I personally never saw any of the original movies and so all I can say about the casting is that based on Jackie Earle Haley's performance in Watchmen, I can definitely see him as a killer.

I am curious to know what fans of A Nightmare on Elm Street think of the casting news.
