Alexandra Daddario Cast in PERCY JACKSON AND THE LIGHTNING THIEF
Alexandra Daddario was cast in PERCY JACKSON AND THE LIGHTNING THIEF as Annabeth, Percy's friend and daughter of the Greek God, Athena.
I wrote about Logan Lerman and Brandon T. Jackson being cast in the movie a few weeks ago and was sort of happy with the casting, but this one I gotta say no.
Annabeth is 12 years-old in The Lightening Thief and so is Percy. Now while Logan Lerman might be able to pass off as younger (he's 17), Alexandra Daddario (who is 23) will not.
If Annabeth looks older than Percy, then it's not going to work. I mean can you imagine if Hermione had been older than Harry Potter and Ron? That's ridiculous. I really don't know how they're going to make this work.
They just killed my excitement for the movie right there.
The first book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, The Lightning Thief follow, Percy Jackson, the son of a mortal woman and a Greek god, and his friends on a quest to stop a dangerous apocalyptic war between the gods.

WOW, I had NO IDEA they were going to make a movie about these books!!! Awesome!
I'm also excited to hear they are making this movie! But this girl really doesn't look like how I pictured Annabeth. I can't believe they picked a 23 year old to play her!
Treat every movie as a SEPARATE entity, and you might find yourself enjoying more movies. The director( or producers) can't be expected to make a movie based on YOUR imagination(or interpretation). What about the differing imaginations of the millions of other people that may have read the book? And then there's the details in the book. It's MUCH easier to fit unlimited detail in a book. A movies would have to be 12 hrs. long to get all the details that are in the book. Here's A CHALLENGE to ALL BOOK READERS (I've done it myself): Watch a movie FIRST, THEN read the book, I know you'll have to wait a bit, but there are probably thousands of books you haven't read that have been made into movies already, try it. I GUARANTEE your opinions of the particular movies won't be as harsh, or disappointing. I say this kindly as a suggestion; NOT as a criticism or harsh judgment of you.
ok, first of all, ANNABETH IS BLONDE! I don't see blonde hair on that head! second of all, she's way too old to play a 12 year old! You know what? I would make a better annabeth! no offense.

You guys shouldn't be so quick to judge Alexandra ): Of course this is a movie they're working on so it's certain that they'll have stylists and all to make them fit their character description. And have you ever heard of hairdye?
