Is Will Smith Captain America?

Update: Marvel has denied to AICN that they ever approached Will Smith for the part. So much for that then.

Is Will Smith the New Captain America? That's the question that MTV is asking itself right now.

While MTV was interviewing Derek Luke for his role in Miracle at St. Anna, he let it slip that Will Smith could be the next Captain America:

“I heard they offered Will Smith ‘Captain America,’” said Luke, adding that the intriguing casting rumor “just shows you how times have changed.”

Of course this is just a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt. And even if they did offer it to Will Smith, there is no guarantee that he would actually do it.

As for me, I personally wouldn't mind seeing Will Smith as Captain America. Although since I do not follow the comic books, I am just basing my answer on how much I love Will Smith. He is like a reliable tool that always delivers. He fully commits to every part he does and I just love that.

What do you guys think? Would Will Smith make a good Captain America?
