Review: IRON MAN (2008)

Iron Man

The Story: Let me start by saying that I have never read an Iron Man comic book, and to be honest I wasn't expecting too much from the movie, mostly because I have been disappointed in the past (need I remind you the disaster that was Spider-Man 3?). But Iron Man was beyond good, it was great! The story took not only the time to build up the characters and make us care about them, it was consistent. Tony Stark doesn't change his personality after being kidnapped, he is still the same character but with a different outlook about what his company does.

The Cast And Crew: I don't think there are any words to explain how brilliant Robert Downey Jr. was as Tony Stark/Iron Man. I don't think there could have been a better casting.
Terrence Howard is also great as usual, and Gwyneth Paltrow brought a great balance to Tony Stark as Pepper Potts.
As for Jeff Bridges, well he is as good as the rest of the cast. Talk about great casting.
And let's not forget Jon Favreau who directed the movie. I really do think one of the main reason Iron Man was so great is because of him. You can tell that he had passion about telling this story the right way and it definitely came out. When I saw him during the panel of Iron Man at Comic Con last year, you could definitely tell that this was a project that he really cared about.

Overall: You have to see it! Everything is just great! Four of us went to see the movie and everybody loved it and was blown away by how good the story, actors and execution of the movie was. Definitely one of my favorite Comic type movie.

Rating: [rating:4.5]
