ONCE (2006) - One of the most beautiful movies...
There are no words to describe the beauty that is ONCE. It is the film that probably touched me the most this year. The film is told through some of the most beautiful songs sang by the two main characters with so much passion it's hard not to feel overwhelmed.
It is a sweet sort of love story between two people that find each other through songs. The director, John Carney, shot the whole film in a non-traditional manner that gives a documentary feel which makes the audience feel closer to the characters. In addition, the beautiful portrayal of the two main characters by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová helps bring the movie alive. It is a great pleasure to see such talent brought together for such an inspiring film. I would recommend Once to anyone who is in the mood for a simple beautiful movie, and different from the blockbuster movies that have invaded us (can't live with them, can't live without them...)
